Conception date is a common question for a variety of reasons. Some women are trying to determine when the baby is due so they can plan accordingly. Some women may be trying to determine their conception date because of a question related to paternity.

Conception date is a start of your real pregnancy. The full length of pregnancy from the conception date is 266 days. All references to the term of pregnancy everywhererefer to the term of pregnancy from the last menstrual period (lmp).

Conception date is the actual date the egg and sperm met. So unless that was the first day of your last period for some reason (not very likely), then that is not the conception date. You’d have to know approximately when you ovulated to know when you conceived. Usually implantation bleeding happens 5-10 days after conception (if it happens at all).

Conception date is important since it can be utilized to argue against prior art cited by the uspto. The conception date is also important when an interference is initiated to prove which inventor was the first to create the invention. Detailed records are also evidence that the inventor was diligent in developing the invention. It should be noted that a prototype is not needed for proof of the conception date

Conception date is important because it serves as the basis for due date computation. Determining the conception date is the first thing that the doctor must do after the woman is declared to be pregnant. After determining the conception date, the doctor will need to know the date of the last menstrual period of the mother and can then compute the estimated delivery date.

Conception date is available when these equations are being used to identify deviant fetal growth. However, even without an independent conception date estimate, these equations may be useful for identifying deviant growth. When different fetal growth measures may yield markedly different gestational age estimates.
